FAQ’s

What is required to book?  Your contact information and a 50% deposit are required at the time of booking. Details are provided on the reservations page.

Is a Captain provided? Yes, a US Coast Guard licensed captain is included with your reservation.

What is the final payment collected?  Full payment is required 7 days prior to your charter — details are provided on the reservations page.

How many guests can you accommodate onboard? A maximum of 10 guests can be accommodated on the vessel. 

What is your cancellation policy? Customers have 48 hours after booking to cancel and receive a full refund. Any cancellations after 48 hours will need to be rescheduled and will not be refunded. Charters booked within 1 week of the charter date have 24 hours to cancel after booking to receive a full refund.

Are tips already included in the final charter payment? No. We greatly appreciate any gratuity you may wish to offer for the excellent service provided by our staff.

Can we decorate for special occasions? Yes! Feel free to bring along decorations that can be secured or fastened without damaging the vessel or potentially fly off and inadvertently pollute the Potomac. Please inquire with our booking host for assistance and suggestions.

Can we bring food and beverages aboard? Yes, you are absolutely allowed and encouraged to bring your own food and drinks aboard! We can also assist you with menu options and services to have your meals prepared and delivered for your charter. Don’t forget to check out our beverage packages as well! Only a few limitations — please absolutely NO bananas on board (it’s bad luck!) or RED / ORANGE food and beverages ( i.e. Red Wine, Kool-Aid, Marinara Sauce, Cheetos, Takis, Doritos, etc.) due to potential stains on white leather seats. 

Is there a sound system onboard? Yes! We have a sound system onboard with a tablet available to stream music — however, you also have the option to connect your smart device. We recommend putting a playlist together in advance for you and your guests to enjoy during the charter. 

Where will the charter depart from? The charter will depart from Washington D.C. You will receive specific departure details once your charter is confirmed. 

Can we make stops along the way? Yes! We are happy to drop anchor at your request to the extent there is sufficient time, and it is safe to do so. Please share your plans with our booking team or inquire for assistance in customizing your charter experience.

Is there a restroom onboard? Yes, a private restroom is available in the lower cabin.

Is parking available nearby? Paid parking is reasonably priced and conveniently located within walking distance of the Marina. Street parking is available but extremely limited. We suggest ride-sharing, carpooling, or utilizing the paid parking lot nearby.

What special packages or promotions are available? Packages are conveniently available for your convenience and offered at multiple price points. Please review our website for the listing of current packages and promotions.

Do you provide ice? The MYC team will provide a cooler and ice to chill your beverages while onboard. You are welcome to bring one small cooler of your own if you so choose.

Are children allowed onboard the vessel? It’s our mission to provide a safe and enjoyable experience while aboard Mahogany. While we love babies and toddlers, we are restricting the charter experience to children Ages 7 and above. All children under the age of 12 or less than 80 pounds are required to wear a life jacket at all times while onboard. Life jackets are available, please inquire with your Mahogany booking host.

Are there additional fees while aboard the charter? An additional $250.00 fee will be assessed to your card if the policies regarding cleanliness and toilet use aboard are not adhered to / requires special plumbing and/or cleaning services. Refer to the boat rules document for more information.

Is smoking allowed onboard? Cigars and Cigarettes are welcome while underway. No smoking, candles, incense, etc., are allowed in the lower cabin. Refer to the boat rules document for more information.

Special pricing for holiday weekends? Yes, a surcharge may apply during peak holidays. Please confirm rates on the reservations page or inquire with our booking team.​
